Don't Quit !

If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, move ... and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you.
-Matthew 17:20

The fifth principle that will give you the confidence that God will help you make your dream come true is to tie it down. DON'T QUIT!

One of the elders of our church suffered a severe heart attack some years ago. It was a twenty-five minute cardiac arrest. When they got him to the hospital he was in a comatose condition. The neurosurgeon said, "There's no hope for him. Even if he lives, he'll be a vegetable."

I came to his bedside shortly after his attack and remembered what Dr. Smiley Blanton, the eminent New York psychiatrist, once said, "There are vast undamaged areas in the most severely damaged brain." I believed him, so I said to my special friend, "Stanley, this is Dr. Schuller. You're going to get well."

And a tear rolled down out of his eye! It was the first sign of hope! And Stanley grabbed hold of a dream, even in his comatose condition - the dream that he could recover.

Several months later, Stan's wife drove him to the church and he walked around without crutches! I ran to him and hugged him. He said, "Pastor, you're great." I answered, "Stanley, God is great!"

Don't quit! Only you can kill God's dream for you. He will not let your dream come smashing down.

Good Luck and Bad Luck

You have a mighty arm; strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.
Psalm 89:13

I enjoy the inspiring story of the Chinese farmer who had one son and one horse. One day the horse ran off to the hills. Everybody came and said, "Oh, you lost your horse; what bad luck! The old Chinese farmer replied, "How do you know it is bad luck?" And sure enough, that night the one horse came back and led twelve wild stallions with him. The one son closed the gate and the farmer had thirteen horses.

The neighbors came again and exclaimed, "Oh, what good luck!" The old farmer answered, "How do you know it is good luck?" And sure enough, as the one son was to break one of the wild stallions, he was thrown off and broke his leg. The neighbors lamented, "Oh what bad luck." Again, the Chinese farmer questioned, "How do you know it is bad luck?"

A short time later a Chinese warlord came through town and drafted all the able-bodied young men and took them off to war with him. Those young men never returned. But the farmer's one son was spared and so he lived a full, long life.

Trust your dream to God. Your dream is God's dream and His purpose is to turn you and me into good stewards of his rich resources.

The Love Call

The Kingdom of God has come near to you. Come to the well of salvation and freely drink of it. The blood will take away any stain in your life.

Thus saith the Lord: come to me just as you are, I will wash you clean. My son died for you so you may have freedom to live in eternal righteousness and holiness. I have opened the door of salvation once again, come and find healing for your soul. I am calling you with an eternal love; come, come, come...

In the past, you have doubted my power; you did this because you didn't believe I cared for you. But you are a treasure to me. Come and I will make your name great. Fear not for my Spirit will always help you. Fear not to fail me because of my Holy Spirit. My Holy Spirit helped my earlier prophets to yield to me; they yield much fruit by my Spirit. Look unto my son Jesus and you will know how to please me in all your ways. I gave him to you to teach you how to live according to all my commandments. But I filled him with the Holy Spirit. He was tested and defeated the enemy. He worked showing all my perfection in all of my works. Look, I am calling you into my greatness. Draw now to my well of salvation as you pray with my Spirit: Dear God: save my soul. I am sorry I sinned against you but I have come home. I am going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come on in Jesus! Come into my heart!

I will give you mighty strength in my Spirit. My Spirit will teach you how to yield to me in perfect obedience; He will teach you all things. Have no fear for my call is a Love Call; fears hinders my good works. I give to you my spiritual armor, use it. You will defeat the devil in everything; my Spirit will teach you to do it. And behold, all heaven is behind you. Ask of me all that you need and I will freely give it.

I have set you apart unto myself to serve me in all of my great power in this last and final hour, yield to my Spirit and I will teach you all my works.

A Women With An Issue

Scripture Ref. Mark 5:25

How many of us can relate to a women with an issue? This woman REALLY had an issue. If we could only imagine all that this woman went through as a result of her "issue". She was considered unclean and anyone who touched her or anything she sat or laid upon was considered unclean.

She was to stay seperated so that she wouldn't cause others to become unclean if they touched her. How humiliating that must have been for this woman who had this issue of blood for twelve long years. She couldn't touch anyone or even come out in public.

How lonely, rejected, and unwanted she must have felt. But this woman had a determination in her. She certainly wasn't a quiter. But I have a feeling she may have been at the end of her rope, so to speak, by the time she heard about Jesus. With one last thrust of determination she pressed through the crowd to touch Jesus because she knew if she could just touch Him she would be made whole.

Have you ever been in a situation that made you feel like this woman must have felt? Is there an "issue" going on in your life that makes you feel unclean, rejected, lonely and abandoned like this woman must have felt? You must press through to Jesus. Press through the crowd of things and even people that seem to be in the way and touch Jesus and He will make you whole. She touched Him with faith in her heart and healing virtue was released from Him. So much so that He turned and said "Who touched Me?" He will do the same for you whether your issue is physical, emotional, or spiritual. Press through and be made whole!

A LETTER TO YOU FROM SATAN

I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your meals, or pray before going to bed last night. You are so unthankful, I like that about you.

I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living, Fool, you are mine. Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I still don't love you yet. As a matter of fact, I hate you, because I hate God. I am only using you to get even with God. He kicked me out of heaven, and I'm going to use you as long as possible to pay him back.

You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me and I'm going to make your life a living hell. That way we'll be together twice.

This will really hurt God. Thanks to you. I'm really showing Him who's boss in your life. With all of the good times we've had..... We have been watching dirty movies, cursing people out, partying, stealing, lying, hypocriting, fornicating, overeating, telling dirty jokes, gossiping, back-stabbing people, disrespecting adults and those in leadership position, NO respect for the church, bad attitudes: SURELY you don't want to give all this up.

Come on, Fool, let's burn together forever. I've got some hot plans for us. This is just a letter of appreciation from me to you. I'd like to say "THANKS" for letting me use you for most of your foolish life. You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin, you give in HA HA HA, you make me sick.

Sin is beginning to take its toll on your life. You look 20 years older, I need new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, cheat, gamble, gossip, fornicate, and listen to and dance to the top 10 jams. Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too. Kids are like that.

Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I'll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run somewhere, confess your sins, live for God with what little bit of life that you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I still hate you...... IT'S JUST THAT YOU'D MAKE A BETTER FOOL FOR CHRIST.

Refuge from the Storm

Years ago a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.

As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.

Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer. "Are you a good farmhand?" the farmer asked him. "Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man. Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him.

The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.

Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows." Enraged by the old man's response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.

To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away.

The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, and he returned to bed to also sleep while the wind blew.

SPIRITUAL TRUTH: When you're prepared, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm.

We secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves firmly in the Word of God.

Father Never Let My Hand Go

A Little Story…………

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.

The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, "Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."

The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."

"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold Urs...
This Story is too short....... ...but carries a lot of Feelings

Birds and Wings

An old legend says that God first created birds without wings. Sometime later, God made wings and said to the birds, "Come, take up these burdens and bear them." The birds hesitated at first, but soon obeyed. They tried picking up the wings in their beaks, but found them too heavy. Then they tried picking them up wit their claws, but found them too large. Finally one of the birds managed to get the wings hoisted onto its shoulders where it was possible to carry them.

To the amazement of the birds, before long the wings began to grow and they soon had attached themselves to the bodies of the birds. One of the birds began to flap his wings and others followed his example. Shortly afterwards, one of the birds took off and began to soar in the air above.

What had once been a heavy burden now became the very thing that enabled the birds to go where they could never go before...and at the same time, truly fulfill the destiny of their creation. The duties and responsibilities you count as burdens today may be part of God's destiny for your life, the means by which your soul is lifted up and prepared for eternity.

Don't be afraid of pressure. Remember that pressure is what turns a lump of coal into a diamond. You know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:3,4

Forgiveness is given only after repentance, not before

If one does forgive that person without his repentance, he is adding to his wickedness that is being committed by him and this will not produce love or any good. It must be understood that repentance must always be first to God and then to the offended member. Repentance means Recognition, Remorse, Rejection and willing to change as a new person. If there is remorse and rejection of a sin, but you don’t recognize the hurt or damage you have caused other person who is a victim, it becomes sin. The root of it that is, it will come back cloaked as something else and cause you to commit the same hurt /sin! No one can force another to forgive. People have their own timing in forgiving.

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' Luke 3:8

It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. Luke 17:2

When confronted about their sins, some people refuse to admit guilt. They ask, "What sin? What do I have to repent of?" Malachi 3:7

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Hebrews 9:22

So watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him. Luke 17:3-4

I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds. Acts 26:20

He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13

Maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation. Exodus 34:7

Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, each of them will turn from his wicked way; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin. Jeremiah 36:3

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Revelation 3:19

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. Acts 17:30

Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 2:25

I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin. Psalm 38:18

One can be forgiving and yet rebuke at the same time. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15

The Power of Encouragement

Dante Gabriel Rossetti, the famous 19th-century poet and artist, was once approached by an elderly man. The old fellow had some sketches and drawings that he wanted Rossetti to look at and tell him if they were any good, or if they at least showed potential talent.

Rossetti looked them over carefully. After the first few, he knew that they were worthless, showing not the least sign of artistic talent. But Rossetti was a kind man, and he told the elderly man as gently as possible that the pictures were without much value and showed little talent. He was sorry, but he could not lie to the man.

The visitor was disappointed, but seemed to expect Rossetti’s judgment. He then apologized for taking up Rossetti’s time, but would he just look at a few more drawings - these done by a young art student?

Rossetti looked over the second batch of sketches and immediately became enthusiastic over the talent they revealed. "These," he said, "oh, these are good. This young student has great talent. He should be given every help and encouragement in his career as an artist. He has a great future if he will work hard and stick to it."

Rossetti could see that the old fellow was deeply moved. "Who is this fine young artist?" he asked. "Your son?"

"No," said the old man sadly. "It is me - 40 years ago. If only I had heard your praise then! For you see, I got discouraged and gave up - too soon."

Come Quickly King of Majestic Glory

Ever since the beginning of time,
You longed to hold me close.
From the very first day
I called You my King,
I have been only yours.

I come to the mountain alone,
I want to be near You.
To hear Your soft, sweet voice.
You hear every word I whisper,
And I long to run away with You,
From the valleys to the highlands.
My eyes, they cry out to see
Your Majestic Glory!

King of Love,
I am Yours & You are mine.
Hold me in Your arms,
Keep me in Your Spirit.
Gather me into Your wings,
And with the speed of hinds feet,
I will runaway with You!
Over the mountains of spices,
You make my heart sing!
You take me into Your secrete places
With waters gushing like deeps goes to deep,
You baptize me in love.

So I long for the time
when I hear my Beloved say,
"Arise, now is the time,
Come quickly, I'll take you away.
Come with me from Lebanon,
Descend from the crest of Amana,
from the Senir, the summit of Hermon.
You are my garden and I am your fountain
My bride, Streaming down from Lebanon."

Awake, north wind,
And come, south wind!
Blow on my garden,
That its fragrance may spread
As perfume in the air.
Awake Holy Spirit and blow
On my garden, that all may
Taste choice fruits of You.

I long for the Holy Day,
When You take me away.
Now I hold small drops of rain
Of Your love & Mercy..
One day I'll see You come
Like lighting for me..
I have Your Comforting Hope here
But I long for Majestic Glory. A
ll hope may seem gone
But you remain strong
Sending Your love rays.

I have heard You at my heart's door,
Saying, "Open to me, my darling, my dove.
Place me like a seal over your heart"

You are watching over Your gardens.
You are like the dawn,
Fair as the moon,
Bright as the sun,
And as majestic as the stars.
Come away, my King of Love
and like a gazelle w
e will runaway on
the spice-laden mountains
Take me away with You,
Into my Kings chambers.
I will runaway, runaway with You!
When You come quickly
To take me to Your wedding feast.

Forgiveness

A letter written to a man on death row by the Father of the man whom the man on death row had killed:

You are probably surprised that I, of all people, am writing a letter to you, but I ask you to read it in its entirety and consider its request seriously. As the Father of the man whom you took part in murdering, I have something very important to say to you.

I forgive you. With all my heart, I forgive you. I realize it may be hard for you to believe, but I really do. At your trial, when you confessed to your part in the events that cost my Son his life and asked for my forgiveness, I immediately granted you that forgiving love from my heart. I can only hope you believe me and will accept my forgiveness.

But this is not all I have to say to you. I want to make you an offer -- I want you to become my adopted child. You see, my Son who died was my only child, and I now want to share my life with you and leave my riches to you. This may not make sense to you or anyone else, but I believe you are worth the offer. I have arranged matters so that if you will receive my offer of forgiveness, not only will you be pardoned for your crime, but you also will be set free from your imprisonment, and your sentence of death will be dismissed. At that point, you will become my adopted child and heir to all my riches.

I realize this is a risky offer for me to make to you -- you might be tempted to reject my offer completely -- but I make it to you without reservation.

Also, I realize it may seem foolish to make such an offer to one who cost my Son his life, but I now have a great love and an unchangeable forgiveness in my heart for you.

Finally, you may be concerned that once you accept my offer you may do something to cause you to be denied your rights as an heir to my wealth. Nothing could be further from the truth. If I can forgive you for your part in my Son's death, I can forgive you for anything. I know you never will be perfect, but you do not have to be perfect to receive my offer. Besides, I believe that once you have accepted my offer and begin to experience the riches that will come to you from me, that your primary (though not always) response will be gratitude and loyalty.

Some would call me foolish for my offer to you, but I wish for you to call me your Father.

Sincerely,
The Father of Jesus

Be Still

Be Still, and Know that I Am God,
My Father said to Me,
And I will fill you with My Peace,
And set your Spirit Free.

You are my Own; I've Chosen You:
You are Precious in My Sight.
Give Me your Heart and I Promise
You I'll be Your Guiding Light.

My Love for you will Never Fade
By your side I'll Always Stay.
My Joy will be your Strength and Shield,
If you'll let Me have My Way.

I'm Standing here with Arms
Outstretched I want to Touch and make You Whole.
Of My Living Waters, Come and Drink,
And I will Quench your Thirsty Soul.

Peace! Be Still! I am with You now,
And no-one could Love You More.
My Love for you will never Die
Of that You can be sure.

That's what my Father said to Me
And I know His Words are true.
I know that He has Set me Free
And He'll do the Same for You.

So just Reach Out, ask Him to Forgive
And Pardon all your Sin.
Ask Him to be your God and King
And He will take You In.

(Psalms 46:10)

Two of Me

My choice is despised and my walk is lonely
I seek separation and segregation
Men and women seeking pleasure
A man and woman together
Apart from God's will; Selfish though it is
But very hard to resist

A part of me loathes and despises this
But another part desires it
I'm at war with myself
And when it is over
The only winner or loser
Will be the future one I am with
Did I dishonor her by my action
Or did I uplift

Will she look into the eyes of a man
Tested and strengthened by fire
Or damaged and destroyed by lust and desire
I seek separation
I find it in this paradox called Crucifixion
Die that I might live

Broken, stripped, torn and ripped
That I might live
The power of the Crucifixion
Is the death of me and the birth of me
So in brokenness, I find wholeness
In humility I find esteem
In death I find life
And the only solution for me
Is a paradox called Crucifixion

I am there

Do you need me?
I am there.
You cannot see me, yet, I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet, I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet, I am the power at work through your hands.
I am at work, though you do not understand my ways.
I am at work, though you do not recognize my works.
I am not strange visions.
I am no mystery.
Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me as I am ~ then
but as a feeling and as a faith.
Yet, I am here.
Yet, I hear.
Yet, I answer.
When you need Me, I am there.
Even if you deny Me I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.
I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for only in your mind
are the myths of "yours" and "mine."
Yet only in your mind can you know Me and experience Me.
Empty your heart of empty fears. When you get yourself out of the
way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And, I am in all.
Though you may not see the good, good is there, for I am there.
I am there because I have to be, for I AM.
Only in Me does the world have meaning.
Only in Me does the world take form.
Only because of me does the world go forward.
I am the law in which the movement of the stars and the growth of living
cells are founded.
I am the Love that is fulfilling.
I am the assurance.
I am the peace.
I am the oneness.
I am the law that you can live by.
I am the Love that you can cling to.
I am your assurance.
I am your peace.
I am the one with you.
I AM.
Though you fail Me, I do not fail you.
Though your faith is in Me is unsure, My faith never waivers, because I
know you, because I love you.
BELOVED, I am there.

Growing Old

I thought I was prepared for my growing-old days.
I didn't know how the seventies would be.
I thought I'd just sit and enjoy my life
With my rocking chair, my Bible, and me.

At the end of my road there's a payday, I've heard,
And regardless of what I go through,
I should lift up my head, put a smile on my face
And do just what I can do.

I try to think back to when things started to change:
I couldn't walk fast anymore,
The phone would keep ringing, but I was too slow.
And I didn't even hear knocks at the door.

Everything around me's a mess now.
Dirty dishes are piled up --in threes.
And my clothes never learned how to hang themselves up
'Cause they always depended on me.

But I've gotten too tired to work anymore.
My best days are gone. Now I'm old.
If I could recall the days of my youth,
I wouldn't trade them for silver or gold.

I feel like I'm always in somebody's way!
Such a helpless place to be.
While they are still playing, enjoying their life,
It's real hard--just four walls and me.

I remember so well the good times I had.
And the bad times--I got through somehow.
Still, I'm thankful I'm living, that I know who I am,
And I am halfway through "seventies" now.

But here is the part most precious of all
At the end of my seventies, you'll see
When my "red light" turns "green", I'll go as fast as I can,
'Cause Heaven's the next place I'll be!

Doing It Right The First Time

There was a little girl who had parents that loved her very much. They raised her to go to church and serve the lord with all that she had. She went every time the church had a service and any events that took place. She enjoyed the worship and praising the lord and speaking in tongues and dancing the isles.

Then one day she got old enough to think for her self (at least she thought she was) and she decided to leave the church scene and go out into the world and try some of the stuff that if offered. She went to the pool halls to play pool. Hung out with friends on the street walking up and down through the traffic all day. And she even went to the bars as she got older to have a drink with her friends that she walked the street with all her teen life.

Then one day she found some stuff called drugs. And these drugs made her feel like she was strong and able to do anything. She began to see things in a different light (a light that was dim). But to her amazement she found that this dim light was taking over her life and she could not stop it from shining on her.

Then one day she found herself in a rut. This was a rut that made her feel dirty and lonely. She found herself without real friends and no one who really was there for her. And then as the story goes, she met a man that she loved in her heart. And she wanted to marry him. And he wanted to marry her. But the dim light that was in her life still kept her from seeing clearly. So she could not see the man in the way that she wanted.

And time went on and this girl finally got to marry her man that she loved from her heart. And the marriage was bad. They fought all the time and cheated each other out of things. And made each other learn to hate. And still this girl could not get rid of this dim light.

Then one day as she was being a house wife. There was this light that came to her kitchen that day. It shined so bright that she forgot about the dim one. This light looked familiar to her, she had seen it before. But she had not seen it in a long time. It made her smile and feel warm.

She began to look at it and study it. She noticed this light showed more than the dim one. She began to get into the brighter light each day. It drew her into it. And she finally went into the light so deep that she could see clearly.

She saw her husband in a brand new light. He was loving and compassionate. She saw herself in a new light. She became loving and compassionate. She became soft at heart and learned that this light she was in was the light of Jesus Christ.

He is the light of the world. And when she got into him, she could live life freely and learn new ways that she only missed during her walk in the dim light.
She saw her life was going no where and this bright light gave her a chance to see where she was headed. She noticed she was headed to a place called hell. And this place was real hot. And it was for eternity. And then the bright light led her to another place. A place of peace and joy and comfort. And all this is what she was looking for to begin with.

But she had gotten side tracked for sometime, with this dim light,( fifteen years to be exact ) she followed this bright light and then she began to see that she could do things right. Where she was doing drugs, in this bright light she did not have to do no more. In this bright light, she did not have to hate any more. In this bright light she did not have to cheat and argue any more. And her life got better and better each day. She lives in the bright light each day of her life. And it is the right light.

Six years later and she is still walking in this bright light. She says now, "that she should have done it right the first time and stayed with this bright light." But now that she is back. She is never going to leave it again. She is going to follow this bright light all the way to heaven, that is doing it right the first time.
